Lahu Hilltribe Weaving

You will notice this colourful woven fabric features in many of our textile ranges - it is a traditional Lahu hilltribe weaving technique using stripes of vibrantly coloured threads in the weft, woven using a backstrap loom. The results are some spectacularly vibrant fabrics ideal for edged details, bags and purses.

Only a handful of Lahu women continue to practice this technique, mostly in remote villages, and at EBannok we are committed to helping sustain this tradition by developing new markets and demand for their products.
