Coppersmith Barbet Necklace

Each of our Clay Whistle Necklaces are hand-made using locally sourced clay, and hand-painted by our Akha hilltribe artisans.

Like other barbets, the Coppersmith or Crimson-breasted Barbet (megalaima haemacephala) chisels out a hole inside a tree to build their nest. They are mainly fruit eating but will take sometimes insects, especially winged termites.
